Hi,

SST39SF020 are 5V uniform sector FLASH.  If your programmer doesn't have the appropriate socket, all you need is an adapter.

SST39VF are 3.6V devices (actually 2.7-3.6V, but better to run at the higher voltage on the programmer).  For this I recommend a Willem 4.1.  This programmer implements low voltage support correctly (runs logic and device at the same voltage and has a level shifter to drive the parallel port at 5V).

The PCB4.5C has a 3.6V option, but I don't have details on whether low voltage support was implemented "correctly".  Dropping VCC to the device being programmed via diodes, overdriving it's inputs and underdriving the shift register that reads the FLASH is sloppy design.

All of your adapters should be compatible with a Willem 4.1.  You might need a modified cable to connect the high order address lines to your TSOP48 adapter.

Dennis

Hi,

Willem is sold out of 4.1's and doesn't plan to sell them anymore.  I have a few 4.1 programmers left to sell.  When they're gone, that's it...  Too bad, I think it's the "best" Willem programmer available.  Sivava has been adding new features, but the 4.1 can be modified to be compatible with Sivava's latest software.

Hi,

It appears to be an authentic Willem 4.1 (look at the silkscreen near the LM317 regulators).  This one doesn't have the optional relay.

Check with Willem to see if he's has any plans to sell the 4.1 for a little longer (it sounded like he might).  If not, I can sell you one with the relay for the same price.
