Hi All

Ive just purchased from Willem the,   DIP32 to TSOP48 ZIF adapter(28F,29F400,800,160,320).I was given also a lead, (like a cdrom audio lead).

Im wanting to read/flash device 28F160, and with no luck, cant get ID of the chip.
The programmer is PCB 4.5C (link below for board ), software 097ja.

Can someone please tell me where this lead,if required should go, and the reading of the mentioned chip.

I have read through and searched, and have tried the remedies mentioned, but still no joy

Thank you in advance

Rich

Hi Rich,

The cable is used to attach the high order addresses to the adapter.  Pin order for the address headers on PCB4.5C and Willem's adapter may be different.

What is the manufacturer and full part number for your device?  I think Willem's adapter only supports byte wide devices or word wide devices with a byte mode.  28F160 appear to be available in 8/16 and 16 only.

Dennis

Hi Rich,

According to EZo's database, that's a word wide device with no byte mode.  The TSOP48 adapter in the shop only supports byte wide devices (or word wide with a byte wide option).  You need a 16 bit TSOP48 adapter.

Dennis

Hi Dennis, thanks for the reply back.

So the adapter   DIP32 to TSOP48 ZIF adapter(28F,29F400,800,160,320), from Willem shop ,  is this the correct type?

Thanks

Rich

Hi Rich,

The only TSOP48 adapter Willem has in the shop will only support byte wide devices or word wide devices that also have a byte wide mode.  There are some 28F160 that are compatible with the adapter you purchased.  The Intel part isn't one of them...

Go to the link in my earlier post and enter 28F160 in the search box.  You'll see that the Intel part number you gave is only word wide.  Others in the list have a byte wide mode.

Dennis
