Willem PCB PCB50a doen't work

Hi guys,

iam working with the lpt version of willem pcb and have pcb revision 50a.

I used this device for 6 years and today it doesnt work.

Yesterday i solder a tsop 29F032 flashchip and want test the ID.

From this moment the willem recognized nothing. I have different adapters like for 27C322,29F032 TSOp 40 and also us 27c801 eproms.

X-Test with other pc and usb cable -> same issue
X-Test with other lpt calbe -> not tried yet.

The function "Test hardware" works sometimes with other settings, but the most of the time i got the "Hardware error"...

I think any part of the pcb could be broken, but which?

Which parts are responsible for detecting the hardware, energie and so on?

What are Test H/W results ? Start with Vcc and Vpp activation. Are LEDs on ?
What power supply used (USB or external) and it selection jumper status ?

thanks for your feedback.

Teh H/W Test said "Hardware error: Check connections"
The VPP LED is on, the VCC only a little bit.

I have tested the usb power and ac adapter. Same problem.

One day before the eprome goes off the VCC LED was complete on, so i think some part is defective?!

Check Vcc switch transistor BC557/BC327

This was the first thing what i want to replace.

I have ordered revision PCB50b and will use this part for a test.

I give feedback asap i can!

If i want replace this part, could you check which part is the right for the willem?!

preferable BC327-40
Check voltages on pins with old transistor, Test H/W Vcc-On and Vcc-off
Are you sure here is no short in Vcc line (programmer lines , adapter) ?

The VCC led could set off and on in testmode.

Will test the transistor and give feedback asap.

Iam sure that is note a short on vcc
