AM29LV065D - 64Mbit chip TSOP adapter?

Сообщение e5frog » Ср янв 27, 2010 9:19 pm

I've gone through all chips of my Willem Programmer which is the dual power version, 5.0C as far as I know, software is "Eprom 0.98D8" and was delivered with the unit.

I was happy to find that it at least supports one type of 64Mbit chip, even though it's just 8 bit, the AM29LV065.

Question is, the program says adapter required TSOP40-A3 which I found a description of here at ezoflash, it's for the ezoflash though and not for the Willem but question is if it's possible to use a TSOP48 adapter instead? Or would I have to rewire it or something?

Are there any plans for a Willem version TSOP40-A3 or will I have to put together one myself if I want to make one that fits? I was hoping the TSOP48 adapter (from http://www.sivava.com/buynow.php?pd=T10 - I bought this set) would work but if it doesn't I guess there's no easy way out... just build it.

I could make my own base that fit's the Sivava system.

Hope you can help.

You can do this with adapters T01(tsop48socket) and TSOP40A from set.
Note that common 40 pins (29LV016, 29LV033) are located in middle of socket TSOP48 (pins 3-22, 27-46). Only one pin (pin2 A22) is specific for AM29LV065 in TSOP48. Look in datasheets.
Place chip in socket on T01. Plug top adapter in TSOP40A, shifted one position up.
Connect wires from TSOP40A to programmer (A19, A20, A21).
Wire from programmer A22 should be connected (soldered) on top adapter -left side, top, internal contact, which correspond TSOP48/pin2 and due to shift not connected to TSOP40A.

Yes here is no progress on high density chips.
You are able program 64 and 128Mb chips partially in blocks based on 32Mb algorythms. Highest adress (log0/log1) manage manually. Here are more verified chips in such way , see my chip test file.
Soon coming tsop48d3 info , where TSOP56 chips (S29GL128N, S29GL064, AM29LV640MH) up to 128Mb verified in 16bit mode .
Unfortunately no equal ready adapters available for Willem programmer. Easiest way is modify existing TSOP set T10.

Great that you were familiar with the Sivava set!

The *065 has bottom four legs n/c as well as the top four apart from A22, so it's basically the same layout as a normal TSOP40 chip.

Shifting the TSOP40A one position makes legs 1,2 48 and 47 in the socket become disconnected and this makes it really connect like a plain 40 pin device would...

Then I manually connect a wire from A22 of the programmer to A22 (pin 2) of the socket - which was previously not connected due to the displacement.

Great solution, I'll probably add a pin there so I can easily dis- and reconnect A22 it when programming these chips.
EDIT: I could use the pin that's not connected to the TSOP40A-connector ofcourse. ;-)

Thanks! Can't wait until I get the parts.

Any tips on where I could get some AM29LV065DU90RE* and AM29LV065DU90RF* (reverse TSOP) chips. Haven't seen any F-chips anywhere... Is it possible to place them up-side-down in the programmer BTW?

I was thinking it would otherwise be possible to make a tool that bent the pins the other way...
