10k x 9 resistor network/ r-pack/ and Capacitor

Сообщение shadowsa » Чт июл 15, 2010 8:38 pm

i ned to know if there is a way to use 2* 10k x9 resistors instead of 10k x 10 well there might be a misunderstanding probably because i thought t would be a 9 pin resistor network, and thats what i purchased, since it was not exactly specified in the part list, i had to find out the hard way while assembling the ezoflash programmer. here my question, is there a way to use 2pcs 9pin 10k resistor neworks? since i own 5 at the moment so before i go and buy a 10 pin resistor network r-pack, i was thinking like puting them in paralell mode, but what do i know. anyway aditionally i need to know what is the solding orientation, since it is not clearly defined in the diagramm where + pole is.
and one more thing is i have 0.47uf Capacitors but they a re electolytic, so can i use them to? or do they have to be tantalum or what else? and does te orientation matter for the Capacitors? since this is not really in the diagramm exatly decriebed either, i guess it does matter but i dont know the exact orientation, pleqase let me know. thank you in advance.

Here is 9 resistors in 10 pin r-pack for ezoflash4v4 and 8 resistors in 9 pin r-pack for ezoflash4v5.
For ezoflash4v5 you can use 9pin or 10pin( last pin unused) r-pack.
Capacitors are generic 0.47mkF . They are not tantalum. Sorry for capacitors size applied in programmer , you can find smaller with value from 0.22 to 0.47mkF

i have all the parts for 4v4 not for 4v5 im missing a few parts like 74HC244, 74LS06

so i prepared and planed on building 4v4.

what aboult polarisation for the caps?

None. Dielectric.Ceramic.

so it means i can not use those electolytic 0.47uf caps whic have a + and - pole??
or i can use them but polarization does not matter?

Check polarity according schematic and actual layout.

where exactly is the polarity defined on the scematics?

thank you very much in advance

Check/find on schematic/layout capacitors pin connected to GND , polarity (-)

About resistors: I successfully built my EzoFlash 4v5 with 9x10K pack and one 10K resistor soldered in a hole left by 10th resistor on the one and to a hole drilled near pin 1 of the pack on the other side. It works, at least with 8-bit Flash 28F/29 ICs and passes all hardware checks.
About capacitors - Use these cheap ceramic ones. I don't know will electrolytic ones work. I used what I had - bigger foil ones, the programmer works but access to ICs and jumpers if very difficult.
And this access is needed, because I'm using a two-sided board composed of two one-sided ones (made using thermal transfer), drilling with a sewing needle and a big wall-type drilling machine, and of course transformer pistol-type soldering iron. It works, but I'm planning to put it into some case with EPROM hi-voltage module and lead EzoBus/jumpers outside using a short piece of ribbon cable, because it looks terribly.

P.S. If you don't have a 10K resistor, as I haven't : Take the one with lower resistance and just file it down using a pin-type file to your needs. Remember that the resistance rises a bit after you finished filing, so monitor it with an ohmmeter continuously. After filing, protect the resistor with a piece of tape or thermal-shrinking pipe. My Uncle's Russian method.

It is possible to find resistor packs in old trash electronic boards (PC motherboard, etc). Value can be wider , 4.7-47k.
The same relates to capacitor. Possible to find smaller size, value can be 100n-470n. I think my design has relativ big size capacitors, here easy find smaller equal.
